I recently compared Site Fees for a 5 night stay at both a site operated by a National C P Operator and a C&CC site in the same area for similar pitches during late April (after Easter). The National Operator levied extra charges for my awning and my dog - total price £52.00. The C&CC site did not levy any extra charges and gave me an Age Discount - total price for same 5 nights £99.00.plus as you will no doubt be aware an annual Membership Subscription as well.
So much for the club being run for the benefit of its members.

Well £99 for 5 nights isn't too bad, but £55 is a bargain. I'm a member of the C&CC and I agree that they aren't necessarily any cheaper than commercial sites. I don't always use club sites either, I just go for whatever is the best value in the area I want to visit. I normally set my limit at £20 a night all in, and I get the C&CC age discount too, so I would pay £99 for 5 nights if there wasn't a comparable site with better value nearby.
------------- Best Regards,
Colin

But who knew car park operators ran campsites?! Except if you want to overnight at a car park on a M-way, it’ll cost a lot more than £10.
It's surprising what some of these companies do run. Some years ago I was working as an agency driver and got sent to Luton Airport to drive the shuttle buses, and they were operated by NCP. Who would have known?
