Hoping to split out time in Wales between Pembrokeshire and Snowdonia. Looking for a sight within walking distance to a village/town with one or two dog friendly pubs. Does anyone have any recommendations that may still have availability for the summer as struggling to find much?

Both Pembrokeshire and Snowdonia are big areas, each of which contain quite literally hundreds of campsites. I would say that the first thing is to be a bit more specific in what you're looking for? Are you in a tent or caravan? Do you prefer a large site with facilities or a CL / farmer's field? Do you need showers, EHU? Do you have children or would an adults only site suit you?

If you can narrow down your preferences, you can then search by map on this site. In my experience, the reviews on this site are fairly accurate and if a site has an overall rating of 9/10 or higher, there's every chance that it's a gem. Some sites' own websites will offer online booking / availability checks, otherwise it's just a case of contacting each one with your preferred dates.

Most villages in both areas will have at least one pub that accepts dogs. They cater to the tourist trade after all, and if they banned dogs they'd just lose part of their customer base.

Lastly, don't underestimate the time taken to travel between destinations. For Pembrokeshire, you're looking at about an hour's drive from Tenby and Saundersfoot on the south coast to Fishguard and Newport in the north. The roads from their to Snowdonia are almost all single carriageway and whilst they're perfectly fine to tow along, you're realistically looking at a full day between packing up and leaving one destination and arriving to and pitching up at the next. There's easily enough in both areas to keep you entertained for a fortnight so my advice is don't feel you have to cover both areas in a single trip.

In Snowdonia, we like the Morris leisure site in Betws-y-Coed which is about a 2 minute walk from the town. I think it is called Riverside Touring

Morris Leisure also have a great site on the edge of the village of Llanberis. 10 minutes walk into village centre, miles of dog walks - including Snowdon itself 😀

I would agree, only do one area. Pembrokeshire has some great beaches if that's your thing. Please tell us what kind of sites you like. I can recommend some Certified Locations (CLs), 5 van sites. You need to be a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club (CAMC), but your £50 joining fee is well worth it.
