Has anyone else noticed that Haven Sites are not taking tents on their Cornwall sites next year.
We have camped all over Devon and Cornwall over the years and love it and even managed to get 2 weeks at Perran Sands last year in between lock downs.
This year we are there again but they have sent out a note with restrictions on width of your tent so anyone with a pod style tent wont be able to pitch.
The change is to apparently comply with Cornwall Council's guidlines that all tents should be 6m apart, which i believe has always been the case for fire regs.?!
We went in to book next year and they seem have removed the option for touring tents from both their Cornwall sites?
Does anyone know why the sudden tightening of regs and change of policy?
We will just go to another site now but we like Haven sites for the facilities for the Children etc.

Yes looks like it is a change of business direction according to Haven. This is fine but instead of making the changes next year they have done it this year and are not accepting new bookings and putting restrictions on the width of peoples tents this year. We were told if our tent was over 4.5m wide even by so much as a few cm we were no longer allowed onsite and would be offered a full refund.
Where at this stage could we find an alternative site?
Others have said as their tents are pod tends they were not allowed on site.
Its terrible that Haven have made this change after accepting bookings at a time when people are hidaying in the uk.
Disapointed in Haven!
Hi, The Cornwall Council site conditions mirror the “model standards”.
Seems more likely a decision has been made to move away from tents and this is just an excuse.
In May we stayed on a former caravan club affiliated site and we’re told that within two years there will be no touring pitches only statics.

How sad that and i hope tbis diesnt spark a trend across all sites.
Nothing against statics or touring caravans or motorhomes, they are all different types of camping in the outdoors and each have their attractions but for me tent camping goes way back to when i had some of the best holidays ever as a kid and family holidays across Cornwall and Devon.
Just think these sites need to seriously think about what they are doing for those where camping in a tent is the only affordable holiday option for some families, especially this year.
This is all very poor from Haven. Even the website is weird, as just did a trial book and it asked for tent length with no mention that I could find of width.
It wont! If you notice though as soon as you choose Tent it removes the area of Cornwall from the list of locations and with it all the current Cornwall sites!
