For forty years we've enjoyed our '72 VW camper and for quite a number of those we belonged to the major club for caravanners, using their select 5-pitch farm sites. But as the years passed, we become less enamoured with their annual subscription, their glossy magazine (which, increasingly, held hardly anything of interest for us), and the sheer overpowering size of the outfits (often a 4x4 with twin-axle caravan) on the small sites.
All we wanted was freedom from all this and so, eventually, left that club. By happy chance, some years later, we came across ukcampsite.co.uk, booked our first visit (to Priory Mill near Brecon) and immediately fell in love with not only that site but - on deeper exploration of this website - realised we now have an astonishingly vast choice of places we can carefully choose to stay at.
Very well done, ukcampsite.co.uk, and warmest congratulations!!

I am a member of the C&CC, but the first place I go to when looking for a site to stay on is UKCampsite. The overwhelming majority of sites we have stayed on since returning to caravanning have been found through this website, and this forum has filled many hours for me during lock-down.
------------- Best Regards,
Colin

Ex tenter since 2007 who moved to the dark side this year here due to decline in physical strength, and have never been a hippy.
I do not wish to tow, hence I got a custom converted panel van kitted out to my own design and specifications.
My original base van was a 4x4, however, due to Covid-19, VW could not give me a build date at the end of August 2020 after placing the van order in March 2020. So I decided to look for a lesser spec'ed base van in UK, rather than to wait indefinitely at the mercy of Brexit made worse by the pandemic.
My van is small being a MWB panel van compared with lots of MHs I have seen that are longer and wider.
