Can anyone recommend a site for a seasonal pitch around forest of bowland/ Preston/ Lancaster
Ideally family friendly with kids playground and possibly close to somewhere that is suitable for paddle boarding

Friends of a friend of ours have a seasonal at Knight Stainforth Hall which they are very happy with but I have no personal experience of that area.

You could try Wyreside Lakes Fishery,its a good few years since I stayed there.Not to sure about paddleboarding though.Check out the reviews on here.

I tried a site search centred on Lancaster and it only came up with 10 or so sites within 10 miles that took seasonals & had play areas. Factor in the wish to be near safe water, and I think it’s the work of half an hour to check a few reviews. One of the sites was a fishery - are paddle boards allowed on fishing lakes? I don’t know!
If you don’t find anywhere down there, try Loch Ken near Castle Douglas just for a holiday (though it has seasonals, I’m pretty sure). All sorts of boating & the site is on the shore.

Bridge House Marina at Garstang ticks the boxes. Haven't been for a good few years but it's on the canal, kids playground, pub just a few minutes walk away.

The only thing I don't know is if they take seasonals but they do have statics so worth a call to check. I am sure there were long stay vans but may be wrong

It's a lovely site and great access onto the canal for paddle boards.
