Hi,
Firstly apologies if this is a repeat question. I tried searching but couldn't find anything specific.
I am wondering if anyone might be able to recommend tent campsites in the South East of England where a playground is visible from the tent pitches?
I'm considering taking my two kids (3 and 5) camping by myself. It would be the first time without my wife. A scary prospect!
One of the most important things for me in a campsite is a playground or play area. The thing is, as I will be on my own, I want to have the play area visible from the tent pitch so I can keep my eye on the kids while I get on with pitching, cooking etc.
Any ideas?
There is one we have stayed at in the past and that was Cedar Gables near Bewl Water. That was basic but good. I really need to find others. I tried to phone a couple but they told me that the play areas are not visible from the tent pitches. I need help.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Maybe use the site search for the tent & playground (and anything else - bathroom, for example? not common so that might be too limiting). Then see if the site’s website has a map, and see whether the tents are by the play area. That should focus on which sites to phone.
I’ve never been to SE England, but thinking of the 5 sites we were at recently touring, only one would have passed your test. Extrapolating, you might need to phone more than a couple.
Good luck.
Ship and Anchor Marina in Ford has a small play area you can pitch in sight of the play area, it's a small site with no shop, about an hours walk to Littlehampton or Arundel along the river. It may be an idea to camp with friends with children of a similar age as the children on site tend to get together in the play area. Phone for a chat with the owner she is lovely and will advise if the site is suitable
