I was shocked to find a CCC site, mid week, out of season (ie this week, Feb) for 2 age concessions was going to be almost £32. Goodness knows what it will be high season while the age concession doesn’t apply. The next door smaller independent site was going to be £16. As it happens, wind & snow stopped our plans for a wee break to somewhere not far away but it might be a wake up call about higher fees, which has already been covered in other threads.
The nice thing about this site at Corfe Castle seems to be that you can walk into the village.

We never pay anything like £32 for any site, even in July when we usually go. That's way over our budget. £25 absolute max, and we would have to have a really special reason to go there to pay that. Normally we look for £20 or less. All we want though is a quiet patch of grass, electricity, and decent toilets and showers. We also try to stay out of the main touristy areas.

yeh, i had to smile ,this morning when the c&mhc magazine dropped through the door.
theres a feature about their pop-up site at Beaulieu, new forest
it says prices start from just £37 per night for a standard pitch
from 24 june to 20 july
and 11 aug to 1 sept.
wont be going there then
