have you looked in the camp site search at the top of this page? i have checked within 5 miles and there are 9 sites, the closest being just under 2 miles away
Which site was under 2 miles away. The closest I found is The Paddock near Aldridge
I didn't find any sites that were nearer than Coleshill, south of Sutton Colefield, east of the city.
The best of these was a Caravan Club CL, and none of them were near public transport. I had been looking for 9 months, and had spoken to 2 councils, a newspaper, and anyone I could think of, to try to find out where the promised Games Camping /Glamping would be(Sandwell had been proposed).
It is not going to be possible to camp and access public transport to and from the venues.
I was so disappointed as I had spent most of the holiday budget on tickets, and an unexpected expensive weekend in London, as we were successful in the velodrome ticket ballot, which is at the Olympic Park in London!
We have had to book a fleapit hotel nr New St, as even Travelodges are 250 a night for the Games week.
We will now take advantage of the free public transport that comes with every ticket bought.
We will now be doing the whole Lancashire to London, and then up to Birmingham, and back, on the train, which we are looking forward to, if I can find Advance tickets.
I was really looking forward to camping, but the plans to include camping and glamping in the Games accommodation options have been abandoned.
Good luck in your search.
