Me and my husband are hiring a motorhome for a week. We haven't driven or used one before. We did used to have a tourer caravan but didn't every tow it anywhere so only really know the basics about the water/heating etc.
I wondered if someone could suggest a site or two which would suit us. I have looked at the campsite search but there are so many and a little inside knowledge would be great.
This is what (i think) we're after.
Somewhere near Stratford Upon Avon (give or take 45 minutes drive). Campsite with toilet and shower (our motorhome has one but I'm happy to use public facilities when possible). Walkable to a village/town/pub/anywhere.
I've been reading reviews and some sites are right next to a main road, some have tricky access lanes, sloping pitches..
I'll continue my search but if anyone reading this has a suggestion I would be most grateful.
Thanks in advance :)

I have looked at that i one -seems okay
Have you stayed there ?
We didn’t need to stay there because our daughter lived near by - so we ate and drank in the town, walked by the river and went to the theatre as well.
You will find with your motorhome that you need to pitch camp within a walk or a bus ride of somewhere interesting, and it struck me that you could walk into Stratford from the racecourse and do all that- and even take a taxi back if you are tired.
But divide your time and have a few days somewhere else as well. There’s Briarfilelds between Gloucester and Cheltenham for a few days - with a bus in both directions.

Enjoy your week.
Thank you - yes we do like to walk into a town - so I always try and streetview the area to make sure there are pavements :)
We have a (very low key festival) near to Leicester at the end of that week - then will be heading back up to Yorkshire so want to try maybe two sites down in that area of UK first.
So far I like the two first suggestions on here- and they work with our route. Not too much driving in between places.
We have stayed here, lovely cheap breakfast if you don't want to cook, about half an hour walk into Stratford upon Avon. Large grass site on the banks of the river, with a river taxi into town if you don't want to walk. (No windbreakers allowed) Take a look at campsite search on this site and read the many reviews
When you feel adventurous you can try our CL at Old Sodbury.
(No toilets or showers) But great for walks being close to the Cotswold Way. Woodside Field

Two nights in Bakewell (as it's not too far to drive for our first ever time) at Greenhill Holiday park. Then two nights at Offenham Touring Park (Fish and Anchor).
Then we have two nights at the festival before heading home.
