We didn’t need to stay there because our daughter lived near by - so we ate and drank in the town, walked by the river and went to the theatre as well.

You will find with your motorhome that you need to pitch camp within a walk or a bus ride of somewhere interesting, and it struck me that you could walk into Stratford from the racecourse and do all that- and even take a taxi back if you are tired.

But divide your time and have a few days somewhere else as well. There’s Briarfilelds between Gloucester and Cheltenham for a few days - with a bus in both directions.
