hi , i was just wondering if anyone could contribute to any information about cheap and cheerfull campsites with driving distance of south shields , closer the better as my dog does not travel well .

Welcome to UKCS. Try the site search and tick on the absolute minimum of features that you want: obviously dogs allowed! but I can’t see your camping outfit on my phone screen so I can’t see if you need a toilet or not.
If you can join one or other Club, you’ll get access to their Certificated Sites CSs (camping & caravanning club CCC) or Certificated Locations CLs (caravan & Motorhome club CAMC), which are for 5 units (members only, in theory) & will probably cost the least.
Your dog won’t be allowed in the toilets & showers on any site.
I’m sure others will have specific recommendations, but it’s not an area I know.
