Hello! First forum post here. We've just bought ourselves a second hand polycotton outwells tent which we are really excited to use! We want to go away for a week in August and we're recommended fisherground campsite in the lake District and it looks amazing as has so much to do. However it's a 3 hour drive from us which isn't a problem but wondered if anyone could recommend something similar in the north east (Northumberland or North Yorkshire?)
It has a little pond/lake, waterfalls, pubs, steam train and the beautiful views of the lakes so might be difficult to beat but would prefer to go somewhere closer if possible as we have a one year old.
Alternatively any kid friendly campsites with lots to do, rivers and streams for playing in.
Next up is hopefully a France trip in September but that's a discussion for another day!
