went onto the website last night and again this morning and its closed for maintenance, this is very good organisation, when people are trying to get last minute sites, you can't access the website to book. right in the main holiday period.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Could it be the much heralded (they've droned on about it for about 6 months now!) change to the booking system update where deposits are now required?
Got to agree timing is absolute pants, no time to be taking down the web site! I'm info gathering for a trip next year, and need details of various campsites, which obviously I can't currently get!
I’ve had to give up on the CAMC app as it’s not fit for purpose after a meltdown for me in June. I now have 2 different digital cards (one with the wrong expiry date) & I can only book sites abroad. So they’ve told me to use the website on my iPhone, not the app. That’s called a workaround rather than a fix.
Hmmmm, I just booked their Cherry Hinton Club Site in Cambridge for next year's Beer Festival, Sunday to Saturday, and it did not ask me for a deposit!

When it came back on line after several hours, it didn't seem any different, so can't see any changes, and the much heralded deposit with booking system doesn't seem to have arrived yet!
Unusual to take hours on site maintenance without major changes causing it, wondered if they tried new booking system and it wouldn't work properly, so reverted back to old site.
They were doing all the preparation work for the new system. As I understand it there is no set date for the new system to be implemented but they hope it will be soon so I wonder if we will see another shut down over the next weekend?
The app is now (1 Aug) telling me to renew my membership & then I will see my digital card.
But I pay by Direct Debit, mid September.
I’ve given up trying to sort it as a different person replies each time without having read the preceding discussion.
Time to delete the app: it’s just making me cross.

I have a physical card but although I can use it to log on the app I too can't make a booking on there - very frustrating - went back to the website about 10 months ago.
Many of the CL'S have started their own website as the grew tired of waiting for the club to update to accept their bookings. It currently just sends an email to the site but we were told at a site a few weeks ago they are looking to develop to take bookings on there
Apparently over 200 site on there and more joining regularly.

If you think tha CAMC site is bad, i'd suggest you dont go near the C&CC site. Dire isnt the word.
I was referring to the App, not the site.
I find the C&CC App much less problematic than the CAMC app. C&CC also has an “out & about” app which very quickly lets you find THSs, District Meets, Specialist Group meets.
