We are off to Black Knowl next Sunday. We cannot arrive on site until 3.15 due to the Brockenhurst marathon taking place. I am looking for somewhere to park up with the caravan for a couple of hours close to Brockenhurst, our route takes us through Lyndhurst.
All suggestions welcome.
Thankyou

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
You don’t mention your route prior to Lyndhurst but If you’re approaching from M27 there are services at Rownhams, Southampton and also at Ower which is just off Jct 2 M27. Don’t stay longer than two hours or you’ll get charged.
Failing that if you leave M27 at jct 1 for Lyndhurst there is a large parking area just after the roundabout onto the A337 into Lyndhurst.
We will be coming down the M3 onto the A27. The roundabout off of junction 1 sounds like an ideal place as it is not too far away from the site. We have been to this site for a few years but to be honest never had this restriction before so have never given it a thought to take note of places to park.

You mention the M3 …just off that motorway is the Fox and Goose pub at Greywell near Hook. It has a huge parking area and their lunch menu will solve the main meal question which you mentioned earlier.
As you are using the M27 and want somewhere close to the forest there’s a much nicer option if you don’t mind a detour of 6/7 miles.
Leave the M27 at junction 1. Instead of heading towards Lyndhurst go into the opposite direction through the village of Brook. Immediately after the pub on the left fork left onto A338 towards Fordingbridge. After a mile turn left to Fritham and Stoney Cross. This is a long straight road across the forest that leads back to the A31/M27. There are numerous parking areas to stop and enjoy the forest and ponds. The area was an airfield in the war so many huge concreted areas to park. I regularly park for lunch there in my fuel tanker so you’ll have no problem with a caravan.
On leaving continue in the same direction to the A31 and exit at junction 1 to Lyndhurst.
Brockenhurst will then be about 20 minutes away.
Thank you to everyone who has replied, I have now managed to get an extra night and will be arriving there on Saturday 10th.
I can only assume that people who were leaving on Sunday have decided to leave on Saturday. They would have had to leave before 10.
