Decided to hire a campervan last night to see if my wife prefers that to camping - she’ll go long with he tent holiday but has usually had enough after 4 nights in it.

Well, we are going to Axminster which is just in Devon, don't know if that is too far for you? We are not really keen on anything further east, but the Hastings area is ok.

We are currently considering the C&CC site at Graffham, as we haven't been there before and prices look fairly reasonable in September. Has anyone been there?
5 trips so far, currently waiting for admin to review the latest site review I submitted on Sunday 10 August 2023 - they have a camping life too so I shall wait!
Still have 3 more trips to go, one in Dorset and one work related in Cambridge in September, and one if Herefordshire in October.

We've been quite busy with our tent. Depending on the month we go south from Cirencester as it's warmer!
May - Kingsbridge (Parklands 4n) - now a bit expensive so may reconsider next year.
May - Woodbury Salterton (Browns Farm 4n)handy to visit family.
June - Ampfield (Three Trees 4n)- nice quiet site.
July - Devizes (Foxhangers 4n) - lovely walks up the Caen Locks to Devizes.
Aug - Burton on the Water (Field Barn 4n) - adult only very quiet.
To come:
Sep - Looe (Camping Caradon 4n) - TBA
Oct - Woodbury Salterton (Browns Farm 4n) - tester to see if we can manage the night temperatures - TBA.
Considering late Apr next year ... !
We only camp Mon-Fri morning as find it's quieter.
I have hit the jackpot with the weather, currently in Dorset at my favourite campsite until Friday 08 September, the anniversary of the late HM QEII's death (I was here when she died last year ).
Anyone else camping this week in UK?

Still at Axminster, tried Lyme Regis today but it was full to bursting, no parking spaces, loads of kids. Thought they were back to school this week. Ended up in Charmouth watching kids jumping in the river (strictly forbidden).
Been back a week, From a site described as level and well drained. That turned into a swamp at the first sight of rain. The showers were kept clean, but poorly designed. The water from one shower flowed into the cubicle 3 doors away and drained there (blocked drain). No means of support if you lose your balance. And a strong smell of sewage when walking to the tent field.

Yes! Finally got away on 4th and have just got back an hour ago. Had a lot of work to do on our old caravan this year and that was our first time away since completing it. We stayed at Graffham C&CC site and really enjoyed it. Our kind of site, no regimentation and very peaceful.
