Hi Myowzie

Welcome!

I think you may have difficulty finding a site to suit you. Most sites we have ever stayed at have strict rules about noise, particularly after 10pm.

You don’t mention what age of teens you are taking about and that might also make it tricky to find somewhere as a lot of sites don’t allow unaccompanied under 18s, unless they are doing Duke of Edinburgh, and many don’t allow groups apart from family groups.

It might be worth searching for sites that specifically mention taking Duke of Edinburgh groups and then phoning to see what their position is about music.

I hope you find something that suits.

Totally agree with what Pixie has already said, but here's a bit of expansion on points raised.

Think you may have a very restricted choice of ordinary campsites willing to accept you, your needs contradict a fair few typical site rules, here's a pick of a few T&Cs from Camping and Caravaning Club (CCC) that may impact you. CCC rules are quite typical for most sites outside of the club as well but are NOT the most strict set of rules, other sites can have longer 'All Quiet' times (I've seen 9.30pm - 8.30am!), and NO non-family groups allowed.

A selection of CCC rules:
2. YOUR BOOKING
2.5 - On a member only site up to four non-members (adults and/or children) may be included in a members' party provided the non-members camp in the member's unit, with the member present.

2.6 - Sub-letting of units is not permitted.

2.8 - When making a booking for a touring pitch you agree that you are aged 18 years or over and have the authority of all persons within your party. Members of The Camping and Caravanning Club Youth Section can camp unaccompanied if they have passed the Youth Camping Test and are fourteen years or older. Bookings are not transferrable to another party. Bookings are not accepted for party events, stag or hen party groups or similar.

5. YOUR STAY ON SITE
5.2 - We want to keep our younger campers safe - if you are staying with children, please make sure they are supervised at all times. No children under the age of 18 years old are to be left unaccompanied on site.

Noise
5.12 - We want all of our campers to have a relaxing stay, that’s why we ask that there be no noise or movement of vehicles between 11pm and 7am.

5.13 - Noise must be kept to a reasonable level at all times so as not to disturb the enjoyment of others.

The most flexible set of rules you will find (and probably more appropriate to your needs) apply to 'Rally Fields', you haven't really got the numbers to justify that sort of a booking, but if out of popular times, the site may allow you to use it for your group. Be warned, many rally fields are devoid of facilities, or only have very basics like a water tap, you may have a bit of a trek to main site toilets/showers etc.

The noise from neighbours TVs/Radios is often a cause of complaint on campsites, musical instruments will undoubtedly be MUCH louder! You've got to allow for the fact that sites are usually located in quiet country locations, and 'human' noise is FAR MORE intrusive than urban areas where it just gets lost in the general hub-bub of town life!

TBH, I wouldn't want to be on a general site with people playing musical instruments! I've been to rally events where it's a like minded group and some musicians have played impromptually, that is a far more appropriate and acceptable setting, and they have attracted a bit of an appreciative audience.

Maybe look for a 5 pitch site (CL, CS or similar) and be prepared to take all 5 pitches, then you'll be the only ones on site and there will be no other campers to annoy!

They would need to be members of one of the relevant Clubs for a CL or CS. “Similar” would be a very small independent site, but I’ve not found one so small.
I’d suggest hiring a static caravan with 3 bedrooms on a big holiday park site; I’ve seen plenty of single sex groups at such sites (usually buying beer at the site shop). Can’t suggest one in the ‘wanted’ area though, but the site search might help.

2024 = 20 sites / 41 nights. 2023 = 9/23. 2022 = 13/35. 2021 = 11/29. 2020 = 4/20. 2019 = 13/35. 2018 = 20/33. 2017 = 10/22. 2016 = 19/33. 2015 = 15 sites / 27 nights. Didn't count 1976 to 2014.

CAMC CLs are Caravan/MH only, NO tents allowed under normal rules. Suspect if you book the entire site privately and as a 'rally', rules can be bent! We've certainly hired CCC CSs as a exclusive rally and exceeded the limited pitch numbers a little bit!

they had a "festival" field last time I went - I'm nor sure if you'd have to book the whole field to play music but worth asking

Perhaps you could consider joining the C&CC and look at the Folk Dance and Song Group.

Some years ago, we attended one of their weekend meets and they spent Saturday playing music.

Worth asking them.

The site I have in mind has a rally field, and if the group pitches as far away from the long term vans, then it may be doable.

The pitches have access to EHU and fresh water, however, it is a bit of a walk to the nearest facilities block, which is understandable.

However, age must be 18+ otherwise they must be accompanied by an adult as far as I am aware.
