Hi All
I am looking for a campsite near Edinburgh.
OK i did find one that was close to a large shopping centre that has a sports ground (football stadium) next to it. The shopping centre had a park and ride into Edinburgh and the campsite was 10 minutes walk from the shopping centre. Yes a lot of info but i forgot to save the campsite and i am now unable to find it. :(
Any help would be much appreciated.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Use the site search - there aren’t that many sites in Edinburgh! Can’t think of one by a sports ground & shopping centre (but I only go to the rugby matches). We always go to Mortonhall. Great walking & cycling from the site (Braid Hills). Excellent farm shop at the entrance & regular buses into the city - a much shorter journey than going in from the site near Musselburgh on the east side (which isn’t by sports & shops either).
The CAMC site is next to sports facilities but not a shopping centre or P&R. It's known as Silverknowle or Leith but is actually at Muirhouse out by the coast.
The one I can think if just by an out of town shopping area would Slatebarns at Rosslyn? Think there is a P&R there too.

We were at Drummohr last year, lovely site well equipped, short drive to the park n ride at Wallyford and short journey by train into Edinburgh
Train is quicker indeed (and not an option from any of the other Edinburgh sites) but the bus is free for us (not expensive for day tickets, £4 or so). It means the MH stays hooked up on site with a cold fridge. Bus-stop nearby. But it does take an age to get into the city from there.
I've generally stayed at Linwater. You can walk to the main road and get a bus into the city, but it's a long walk. Probably better to drive to the P&R at Hermiston.
