We've just come back from a lovely stay at the Bucklegrove site near cheddar. Our first time camping and despite the dreadful weather we had a great time. The site was perfect for our needs and now looking for similar places to visit in different areas. The site had two sections, one where tents were packed in quite tight with Electric hook up and also a huge adjacent field which was essentially a pick and choose where you pitch. We were in the field, we loved the basically unlimited space, stunning views etc but still on a site with showers, toilets, small shop, washing up area and small bar/restaurant. It wasn't a huge holiday park, just a nice site with the basic amenities we need.
We would really love to find more sites within 3 hours of Reading that has showers/toilets/washing up/clubhouse (or nearby pub for occasional meal out within very short walking distance as we have young children) but within a field with ample space. Any recommendations? Not overly fussed by electric but bonus points if there's somewhere with an incredible amount of space and electric :-)
Many thanks
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Have you looked at the Camp Site Search facility, play around with the filters to suit your needs.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
As above, and read the first page of reviews for the sites with 10 stars, focussing on what’s important for you. (We’d avoid the site where someone loved the karaoke, but that might be exactly what you’re looking for.)
