Hi all
I am a newbie, so please go easy if I say/do something wrong.
We are a couple from North West England. We have a passion for campervan weekends and also Kayaking. We are looking for campsites in the middle of the UK that are on/next to Rivers/Canals. In an ideal world, we would be able to paddle/Kayak etc.
So, "WHAT DO YOU CLASS MIDDLE OF UK"? I hear you say. Well, in our instance, I am imagining drawing a pair of horizontal parallel lines in the middle of the country, and my catchment area would ideally include (From left to right)
Herefordshire, Shropshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Northants, Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Lancashire (and any I have missed please)
I think Cambridgeshire, East Anglia, etc are a little out of our way for day/2 day trips, as are counties below these.
I know I have been really vague here (indeed the title length would not allow me to write Middle UK) so please forgive this on my first post.
We've only had our van 5 weeks! We are simply looking for sites for our Ducato/Boxer/Relay campervan etc close to waterways. Electricity etc NOT required
Thank you in advance all.

Twilite Leisure Park is close to a canal near Banbury in Oxfordshire, I'm not sure if that would be suitable or close enough (we walked along the towpath into Banbury for parkrun).

Canal Central near Oswestry
Just a couple of steps from the canal. Big grass pitches, only 1 combined loo / showers but if its the waterways you want access to this is perfect and waterways aren't as busy as some canals.

It might be a good idea to consider your suitable waterway first, then look for a campsite on it. For instance, the Lancaster canal has sites near Garstang.

I have heard good things about Overwater Marina near Nantwich in Cheshire but haven’t had a chance to try it out yet.
