Booked to go in a couple of weeks time on a grass pitch. Is it usual CAMC choose your own pitch by driving round a few times or are you allocated a pitch. If not allocated, any advise on the best grass pitches with EHU, prefer large and quiet, away from playgrounds etc, thanks
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
You choose. Some drive around and choose, some walk around and choose, some send a runner ahead with a phone to choose. The warden will advise where to search for pitches to meet your wish list but there may not be many available if you arrive late in the day.
You can download a PDF of the site to see the layout and position of the pitches etc,if you look at the details of the site itself it will be in the info on the right hand side right down the bottom, it's not that helpful showing the area but does show the main road along the top, hope this helps a bit.

I've looked for a site plan and can't find it anywhere, the info box just shows the wifi service and a before you travel general guide
It depends on the site and season I found, when it was busy, the wardens would pre-allocate. When it was quiet, I had the freedom to drive around and choose.
Contact the campsite and ask for a site plan, and ask for a pitch away from the play area if any.
Also choose based on your preference whether you like the sun or not. I am one of those who chases the shade rather than the sun, and prefer for my passenger side where the awning/canopy is fitted to be north facing.
You can always ask for a particular pitch in advance - it is up to the site to decide if they can help with your request. I found the sites are more likely to help if one books well in advance so that they can plan ahead etc...

It is there, if you go into the site you will find on the right hand side the price then below that in order is: reviews, at a glance, accessibility guide,SITE PLAN and site leaflet. Its just before the site info box. I think you will find all the camc sites have that facility.

Got it, thank you . Never noticed it before when looking at CAMC sites !!
We’re arrived at a CAMC site today. Two pitches beside each other are pre-booked, judging by the signs on both. When we arrived, mid afternoon, the manager kindly put a ring around the few pitches that were still free. The “site full” sign is now up at 4:00, so the last arrivals will have no choice.
