My husband and myself are taking a weeks holiday in our caravan the week after next. The weather forecast isn't the best and I'm looking for a campsite with nice facilities with activities nearby. We're looking for somewhere in the north of England or Scottish borders. If anyone recommend anywhere I'd be really grateful.

Welcome to UKCS. Try using the Site Search & tick for things you might want to do on site (or within a few miles) in wet weather.
Lilliardsedge has a bar & has a good wee golf course wrapped around it, with a number of abbey towns & estates like Floors Castle in easy distance (bus stop outside). I’d keep away from the coastal sites, it’s pretty unpleasant if the wind is from the east. The east coast there also had a haar while the rest of us basked in sunshine last week. You could do worse than Melrose too, but it’s an expensive site even if you’re a CAMC member.
Otherwise, I’d expect somewhere around Alnwick might fit the bill. But my first stop is always the site search, especially if you want adults only or no dogs.
Southmeadows caravan park in Belford, good hardstanding pitches, toilet facilities excellent, good price, £26.50 for a fully serviced pitch, 15 miles south of Berwick upon Tweed and about 8 miles to the coast at Bamburgh.
