We saw a good one in 1986 which wasn't even meant to be a good year. On Good Friday as it happened, which the ordinary working man once thought that it was the only day of the year when it happened. One of their few days off work I suppose. On our way back from seeing it we met a couple who had been caught out by the clocks changing and therefore missed it. Seen it since, but that was the best.

Inland Cornwall has good value sites. Gwel an Nans near Bodmin is a top notch small campsite. Their price is £20 a night including 4people, awning, dog, toilets, hard standing or grass, etc - but electricity is pay as you go.
We've booked 3 nights at Broadstone Park, Coleford for February which includes EHU, awning + our 2 dogs. They also have a small shop and cafe and a shower and toilets if needed. It cost £72.00 so, £24 a night.
We're looking at Portland for Easter and that's estimated at £15 a night - Portland Bill Camping or try Fancy's Farm on Portland which I'm pretty sure is linked to Portland Bill Camping anyway.
We've not been to any of the sites I've mentioned so I'm looking forward to staying/booking.
------------- 2024:
February: Broadstone Park, Coleford
March: Bucklegrove, Rodney Stoke
Easter: Llandrindod Wells, Powys
May: Carmarthenshire
July: Dorset Volksfest + Wilksworth
August: Gloucestershire Vintage & Country Extravaganza
August BH: TBC
September: Undecided
October: Bull Bay, Anglesey
Been to both areas (been everywhere, that is the problem). We liked Portland, interesting footpaths around the old quarry areas and great fossils in the rocks at Portland Bill. Great views of Chesil Beach. The Coleford area is great, Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.
