Can anyone recommend a pitch in or near Edinburgh.
Have a job at the Castle to do and would like to go in the Motorhome, save on the Hotel prices.
Already been told there is no parking for the MoHo anyway near the castle. So looking to pitch it up and use local buses or train.

Lothian Bridge campsite at Newtongrange, looks pretty good, live nearby so not stated there! It is near train station and direct bus link into Edinburgh.

Thanks everyone, Premier Inn won, nowhere to park at the job. Long walk with all my lecture kit.
2nd day sent home, apparently saying "humping and dumping" is not PC. So I loaded my kit into my car 2 miles away and went home. Weeks pay, weeks expenses, happy. Won't return to Edinburgh though, didn't find it at all friendly.

Sorry to hear you found Edinburgh unfriendly. Definitely not my experience when we stay at Mortonhall for the rugby.

Morton hall has no security what so ever , our group had 4 motorcycles stolen a few years ago, site staff wer'nt even interested, easy for thieves to case the place from the path at the back of the site and theres a gate into the site

we did get 3 of the 4 bikes back, which i had to repair before we could ride home, 4th one was found a week later in a ditch about a mile away

The OP isn’t coming back to Edinburgh, but I hope you put a review of your experience at Mortonhall onto UKCS, to alert others.
Pushbikes are stolen from the CAMC Edinburgh site too, according to UKCS reviews. Not as serious as motorcycles, but Mortonhall does have a bike store.
