Hi everyone, are you allowed to live all year round full time in your caravan on a pitch in say a holiday park rather than a permanent resident park? I've seen some for £400 a month, I know they close for a couple months of the year which is fine I have somewhere else I can go in that time. Sorry if its daft question just didn't know if you were allowed to do this or not, I'm looking to live in a touring caravan full time very soon and site fees are half that of rent, and I plan to just install solar panels. Has anyone else done similar?

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

Legally? No. The site will be breaching the terms of their planning permission and the site license.
Practically? Some sites do turn a blind eye and pretend they don't know what you are doing. If the local council enforces , you are simply told to leave.
You may also be told to leave if the site or site management changes hands, if the site wants to redevelop, or if the site is sold.
There are no residential sites in the UK that allow full-time living in a touring caravan.
IF you have no other alternative, then it may be a gamble worth taking.
It may be less of a a gamble with a tourer (as opposed to a static), as you can at least start moving around if/when the site starts enforcing terms.
The only secure location would be a properly licensed residential park, but not many parks rent, in most cases you have to be an owner-occupier of a park home that is already sited, so the purchase cost will be a big hurdle (although the pitch fee will be a lot less than £400/month).

Many static sites are around £5,000 a year.
