It's a good few years since I lived in that area, but we used sites round Bracklesham bay, East West wittering. The sites were an easy walk to the sea and I think they are still up and running.
I recall that on weekends, the traffic from south of London was horrific, but quiet at other times.
------------- Two drifters off to see the world.
I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.

The site search (at top of page) throws up quite a number of sites within 5 miles of coast: https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/results.asp?county=West+Sussex&tents=on&caravan........
Tweak it as you need with the filters.
Generally in my experience, group bookings are NOT available on online booking systems, but talking to site owners/managers often gets you what you need. Many sites have a 'no groups' policy, so they deliberately prevent that kind of automated booking, but talking to them and explaining you're an extended family or just a couple of friends meets with their approval. I've certainly done it successfully.
Alternatively, check good availability (you don't want to be booking the last pitch!), and make two individual online bookings in quick succession. It's a slight gamble that you get both bookings, as no idea how quickly others are booking pitches!
Always best to talk to site, as although you may get automated booking, if they allocate pitches on booking, as opposed to allowing you to chose on arrival, you may not be near each other on site!
