I live in Scotland. Probably not worth joining either club for touring up here, unless you want to use a few for stopovers ie CCC Moffat (quiet) or CAMC Strathclyde (very noisy). Very poor coverage of Club sites in more remote areas. Plenty of excellent independent sites, use the UKCS site search.
Edit to add: there are a few club sites in areas that you’re less likely to get to, where there’s only a club site eg Garlieston in SW Scotland or Melrose in the Borders, or Culzean (said Cullane) in Ayrshire or Onich near Fort William. But you can join the clubs at any site, if (as others have said) you’re going to use them for more than 4 nights, at which point it’s worth the fee.
If you’re wanting a site with toilets, that’s more likely to be a CCC Certificated Site because they usually take tents (that are unlikely to have a portapotti), rather than a CAMC Certificated Location which often don’t have toilets (caravans & MHs have an en suite).
Enjoy the trip, wherever you go!
------------- 2025=3 sites, 5 nights; 2024 = 20 sites / 41 nights. 2023 = 9/23. 2022 = 13/35. 2021 = 11/29. 2020 = 4/20. 2019 = 13/35. 2018 = 20/33. 2017 = 10/22. 2016 = 19/33. 2015 = 15 sites / 27 nights. Didn't count 1976 to 2014.
