Sorry i cant give a recent review, i went there way back in 1972, i was only 11 but remember it being a quiet friendly site & lovely scenery, & beach. Id love to go back there & looking at their website it looks like it hasnt changed at all. Shame it seemed to rain most of the time though.

We went to Aberafon two weeks ago.  We went on the strength of the reviews on this site and we were not dissapointed.  We had a fabulous time and hope to be going back there soon.  We were camped in the top field which had a childrens play area in the corner and brand new toilets with pot washing facilities.  This field is the furthest away from the shower block (2 minute walk!!)  But our tent was pitched overlooking the sea and the views were to die for.  The owner was lovely, first time I have turned up at a site and not been handed a list of rules and regs.  That said the campsite was relaxed and peaceful.

There is no shop on the site but there is a londis in the village (2 minute drive) or supermarkets on the way in at Caernarfon.

Hope this helps!

we have just been to this campsite big long list of rules and regs

it has got nice views

beach is a pebble beach

very boring if it rains (it did)

many tents were blown away or ruined in the night (on the top field)

the pool table had a pool on it (roof was leaking)

ground was very hard bent about 15 pegs

shop only open 2 hrs a day (noy much in it anyway)

would not reccomend this site unless you are a couple and only want to walk on the pebble beach

We have just come back from this site. We pitched on Fiday evening on top field with wonderful views over the sea and had great time until Saturday evening when the weather changed the rain lashed down and the wind battered our tent and our two friends tents. At 9.30 we took the decision too take our broken tents down and go home we have a vango vista and can cope with a lot but we have 4 of our five poles broken before we go to france in two weeks.

Having said that it was a nice quiet site with spectacular scenery and I would def go again but would avoid the top field. As all the sheltered tents were okay as we drove off.

We went there last year for a week, lovely site but the top field is very exposed if it is windy. It was very windy one night when we stayed and whilst we were OK on the bottom field, a few were blown away from the top field. Also the access road is very steep and very narrow I wouldnt fancy going up or down it with a van.

We have just returned from our first trip there

We were in bottom field next to beach ...... However what this means is that  as soon as tide comes in the boat people appear with 4x4's and boats in tow reving up engines etc and filling the air with noise and disel fumes !!

This is VERY ANNOYING !!!  when you are sat having a cuppa and just relaxing .

The owners should make this field boat people only or at least warn people of whats to come

We will not be returning .
