it's a short walk to Carbis Bay beach, and 5 minutes into St Ives.
Hope you don't have any mobility problems. The walk down to and back up from Carbis Bay Beach involves a VERY steep hill of a couple of hundred yards followed by a less severe incline up to the main road. Really not for the faint hearted. Also a bit of a no-no if you've got pushchairs to deal with.
Nice site though. The parent site is Polmanter a little bit further away. They also take big tents no problem.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Iv'e just got back from polmanter in st ives its a great campsite with a swimming pool and there's a bus into st ives on the hour uptill midnight which means you dont have to bother trying to park in st ives which is a nightmare you can walk in and catch the bus back. Also we sometimes drive to Gwithian beach which has rock pools and is great for body boarding and its only 20 min drive and plenty of parking spaces.
Weve also booked for trevornick for next year as the reviews sound great.

Were going the first two weeks of our 6 weeks holidays which is about the 16th july carn't remember the exact date with out finding paper work but Im really looking forward to it, my sisters booked now as well and some friends are thinking of going in the euro tents, were in the pond field pitch 7 near the fishing lakes so I can keep an eye on my son.
St Ives Bay or BeachSide in Hayle both brilliant St Ives Bay has indoor pool & Beachside outdoor, both own access to beach. Just got back from Hayle tonight brilliant time as always (but stayed with my sister so can't comment on sites this time)
Up until 3 years ago we used to store our caravan at Wheal Rose at Scorrier near Redruth & visited often, only 2 miles from Porthtowen beach, very relaxed & friendly site, I would be suprised if the laid back owners would mind you having a large tent & we always found it to be a quiet site.
