Well tell him that he has no chance of getting on a campsite these days as we know here.This is a long shot but worth a try the YMCA has some places you can camp they could give that a try,but if they do take them its going to be a campsite in the middle of nowhere and they will be very closley watched,step out of line just a little and your off,so ask them and yourself, will my son and friends be happy to have a camping holiday in the middle of nowhere,be sober and quiet and be prepared to go to bed at a reasonable time ? Doesent sound like many 17 year olds I know.
However if just for example you went along booked in at somewhere like Ty Mawr,its large enough for you both to pitch up miles apart,the meadows and camping field are next to each other.you need never even see each other while your there.theres a club onsite,swimming pool,footie,basketball, pitches,your a short bus ride or walk from lots of different places.
Worth thinking about
