Reporting back..... Did try the Channel view campsite but because going with sister in law with additional car they quoted £22.00 a night for a basic pitch, which thought was a tad expensive.
We ended up in this wonderful site with virtually zero facilities, ie tap and chemical disposal area, and we just had the most wonderful time. Views across the Bristol channel, children had a huge field to romp in and very few other campers to bother. Two teenagers mixed with a 5year old and a 3 year old played happily together and the other campers were kind enough to say that they really enjoyed watching them play together. Good hills for number one teenage son who did fifty miles one evening taking in the infamous Porlock hill, yes he really did cycle up the thing apparently being clapped by passing motorists. We forget a large number of tent pegs which was a problem when we had a storm but somewhow the effect of the awning behaving as if it was a bat just reduced us to laughter, we just got mopping and carried on. The only tears we had was from the five year old who just hated us packing up to go home.
The caravaning and camping clubsite nearby can I just say the people there we so helpful and friendly even though we were not staying there. They actually directed us to this minimal site having quickly realised that would be more our type of camping. If you wanted a more civilised form of camping I think it would be a wonderful site, they were just so lovely.
