Just got back from a week at Brynich and wanted to share my experience.

The site is lovely with fantastic views of the surrounding Welsh countryside.  The site has a well equipped shop and there are 3 play areas for the kids.  The pitch we were on seemed a bit small but maybe that was because our tent is so big.

Would we go back again?  No!  There are too many rules for my liking (no roller skates, skateboards, roller blades to name but a few) and after reading other posts about the owner I would have to agree that his people skills are definitely lacking.  I saw him move a couple from one pitch to another in the pouring rain once they had started pitching even though one of his staff had told them to pitch where they were.  We helped them move pitch and put up their tent but couldn't believe he had moved them (to save the grass as someone had just vacated but he put them on another pitch that had also just been vacated).

To sum up the area is great with some breath taking scenery, the site is also very nice but the week was slightly spoiled by a feeling that we were naughty school children who didn't know how to behave.

Ah yes, I remember it well.

Oh what a feeling of Deja vu !!!

Another dissatisfied customer again  The owner obviously doesn't read anything on this website as him and his rules have been mentioned so many times before. He wasn't nicknamed Hitler for nothing by us!

Funny to be reading this today.  We phoned this site on Friday to try to book a pitch for last night.  We were told they do not accept bookings for only one night.  We thought how choosy and fussy this seemed especially as we only phoned the day before and you would have thought if they had space they would have been happy for us to take it.  Instead we stayed at Wyeside in Rhayader.  They didn't take bookings but assured us that apart from bank holidays they always had space and they did.  Such a laid back, easy going site, lovely and clean. The reviews on Wyeside do mention it being noisy near to the road, but we pitched next to the river and the sound of the water masked any noise from the traffic.

In view of the above comments I'm glad Brynwich didn't want us.

Try Pencelli castle, its more expensive if there's a few of you as it charges per person but its a lovely site with immaculate well thought out facilities. (And a friendly owner!).

We did go to Brynich once, she asked when we booked in where we'd heard of them, I said we'd looked in the book when we found out Pencelli was full!
