Does any one have any fab sugestions of lovely quite camp sites in Cornwall or Devon (never been to either so not sure which is the better place to visit??).  Would love to camp under trees and not be able to see loads of other tents.  It is for teh bank holiday at the end of the month so I know that we wont be able to fussy.  Would really appreciate some feedback/idea's.

PS

We have 2 childran - 2 years old and 1 month old.

When we were kids we used to go to two fantastic sites - both of the farm sites.

Kestle Farm near Mevagissy in Cornwall

And Forda Hill Farm - can't remember exact location - in Devon.

Both sites were quiet - both sites were popular with young families, in fact, I am still in touch with THREE girls I used to be friends with on those sites over twenty years later!!

Not even sure if they still exist, but if they do they are fab!! Used to be able to get milk, eggs fruit an veg from the farmer at kestle farm too!! Decent loos etc too!!

Hi B and M

Thanks for the reply.  Had a look and both of your sugestions have been turned into B&B's - such a shame. Thanks any way!

No camping at all? They were both B&B's aswell as a campsite when we were kids! That is SUCH a shame!! They would have been right up your street I reckon! Will try and think of others for you.

Hi Tcamper, you could give riverside campsite at marsh mills near Plymouth a try.

We have been going there for the past few years and find it o.k.

Plenty of trees there,s/pool, bar/takeaway.good park and ride 10 mins away.

                                                    enjoy.........rainmaker

Lower Pentreath at Praa Sands Nr Helston in Cornwall. Lovely tiny site with just 15 pitches. Spotless loo/shower block. Really friendly owners. Sea views from pitches and less than 5 mins walk to the beach. I did put a review on here for it. We will deffo return there next time we go to Cornwall.

Try Wheal Rodney Caravan Park in Marazion http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=2662 This is a lovely quiet site in the countryside and you can camp under the trees. It is a short walk from the small town of Marazion. See my review in the reviews section for this site.
