We had a short camping trip to Glenmore last weekend. and whilst the brand new showers and toilet block were welcome the midges certainly were not. Since we arrived at 8 pm the midges were in full flow. By the time we got the tent up we were a mass of bites. It's lucky I had the piriton and anthisan cream. I doubt if even Avon's Skin So Soft would have been any match for them.
Next of course we had the drunken lads returning from the pub at all hours of the morning talking and singing loudly. I think in future we will be looking for small family type campsites as these large ones tend to attract large groups of young lads dressed as old boy Scouts (forgotten the name for the older boy scouts)
Don't get me wrong the site was set in beautiful scenery but I was glad to get home for a decent sleep!
