Can anyone recommend a nice peaceful site in Devon - we're hoping to go second week in September. Somewhere pretty, peaceful, good views, maybe a shop but no noisy bars, and not too expensive! Do you think this is too tall an order?

We went to this site a couple of years ago http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=1321 with our two boys (5 and 6 at the time) and found it very nice. No bar, no cafe, etc. Just a little shop. The owners were also very pleasant and helpful. We did stay in a static but the tent field seemed good and we are also planning to go back with our tent.
I live in Exmouth Devon and we have recently had a weekend away. We stayed at The Harford Bridge Campsite at Peter Tavy on the moors(Dartmoor). It was lovely, quiet and very friendly. I would highly recommend it.

Paignton Holiday Park is lovely and quiet. Mainly statics, but they have a camping field -well more of a stepped bank, but very nice. There is a shop, and the site is divided by a lane which leads to a nice pub with good food.
Oh, and it's in Paignton, in case you hadn't realised. Not far from the zoo.
I haven't been to either of these in Devon but looked at them with a view to booking. We are combining a trip with my daughter going away to a friends for the weekend so we needed somewhere nearer to where she is being dropped and have booked for Somerset instead.

We recently stayed at Leadstone Camping in Dawlish Warren. Lovely site, very basic but has all the necessary things. Run by a very friendly. Large pitches and will set out. Loads of young children about so can't say it was peaceful, but really nice relaxed atmosphere. Website is http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=1296
