Which do you prefer? I am looking for a place to camp with sea views, - can't beat waking up in the morning to the sea. I'm going for 5 nights next week and can't decide between somewhere in Pembrokeshire e.g. St Davids, or, North Cornwall e.g. Polzeath. Unfortunately I have already phoned a few places and they are fully booked! Anyone know of any lesser used sites which don't get bombarded by children in the Summer months? (I am a teacher - so looking for a break from kids!)

Many thanks x

Mid August - possibly try northern Siberia?

Seriously.. just been on a surfing web site for Bude, and they are complaining that this year seems even more popular with families than it did last year... (they were actualy complaining about it... which seems weird to me as they sell surf boards and body boards.. oh well)

Have fun where ever you end up, but don't hold your breath if your hoping for no kids... ours by the way will be screaming their heads off no doubt on Perranporth beach from the 11th - 22nd.. dad has ear plug ready..

Chris

Hi Kelster,

Teacher?  Without a doubt head for St. Davids, avoid Polzeath like the plague unless you want to be surrounded by young 'surfer dudes and duedesses'!!  We used to holiday in Cornwall when I was a child, it was wonderful and still is out of season.  But Pembrokeshire is like Cornwall was all those years ago.  It's beautiful, busy in August but there is still an air of calm and peace in the evenings which is hard to beat.  There are lots of little sites around St. Davids that are probably not in any guide, try ringing the TIC there for more info.  I know they are supposed to only give out 'registered sites' but they might help.  If you want to call me I can suggest one that we stay at that's not in any guide!  Go to our site http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/results3.asp?search=fforest+fields&by=sitename and get my number!

Thanks very much to Chris and Katie for their advice. Katie I tried your recommendaion, but they were full too!  Thanks anyway, we have now managed to secure a booking in a campsite near Whitesands bay, so we are happy and looking forward to the break!

Thanks again

Kelly
