i dont ever post but had a thought 2 day ( which hurt like mad) lol u should have seen the steam come out my ears... i,ve been camping for the last 10 years and now up graded 2 a caravan(which i love) and i look on this site for some great ideas for weekend, midweek, or week break's(which i do find) but one question i have to ask is why has no-one put haven or other sites like this on this site???? i have been to haven a few times with tent and now caravan.. and find the sites great if you have a family as they seem to cater for everyone.. i have four children aging from 3-18 and find these sites great im not singing their prasiers but i find them good value for money(as im on a very tight budget) i know some people like a very quiet break which i understand as i to like peace and quiet... i really understand that people can make their own chooses of where they would like to go and what they want 2 do but has any one else on here have any thoughts on this subject??? sorry to go on (iv,e finished now)
thanks for reading this
Edit - Webby - All the Haven sites ARE listed on this website, along with many many other similar sites.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
we stayed at a haven sight in devon before we bought our caravan and if my children were still young then yes i would go back because as you say they do cater for everyones needs, my boys are a lot older now and sad to say that even theyoungest one who is 15 likes the quiet sites, he says its not where you are but the quality time that we spend together as a family that he loves, quiet a refreshing view from a teenage boy i think.
we too use to stay at Haven when the kids were younger , they loved it when they went to their own club (so did we) as it gave us a break to enjoy a drink and the entertainment. OH won a free holiday in the knobbly knees contest one year. Won"t win now hes had them fixed

Not sure what you mean by "why has no-one put haven or other sites like this on this site." They have - there are a lot of Haven Holidays sites listed in the Camp Sites section, just do a search - or click on this
and know wot your talking about i think that is the worse site ever..went there a few years ago and came home early..i had compleatly forgot about it(wonder why) but u cant put them all in the same catergory as they are good and bad sites everywhere..and one bad experiance should'nt put you off from tring other sites.. well thats what i think anyway

Went to a Haven site last year. Awful. They are not interested in the touring side. When we left they asked if we wanted to book for the next year as they were halving the number of touring pitched for more statics. No thankyou.

Wouldn't touch a Haven site with a bargepole but others love em. "Family entertainment" at best leaves me cold and at worst makes with quivver with embarassment. While there is a choice of types of site I'll "Carry on Camping" but if they all go down the Haven-type route then I'll have a well loved trailer tent for sale.
As an ex-static owner of 5 years on a Haven site, I have experienced it from both sides. There's not much money to be made from tourers (tent, motorhome or caravan) as the big money is in statics, but they don't care about the static owners either.
They are only interested in constantly trying to get you to upgrade your van. They have outpriced many people, and a lot of peeps we knew at our site have been forced out due to the extortionate ground rent. At last count is was over £5k and rising! A total rip-off.
Also the food and drink in their "entertainment complexes" is vastly overpriced, for tourers and static owners alike. You have to buy "membership" at great cost, and the entertainment is very poor most of the time, and not fit to be playing at the local workingmen's club.
A lot of people are very disgruntled with Haven, and I for one, would NEVER camp on a Haven site. They've already had enough money out of me.
We used to use Haven quite a lot on the East coast, decent pitches on sites with plenty of amenities/attractions
I think they have really gone downhill especially since they linked up with British Holidays a couple of years ago.I think they are trying to price tourers and tents away from the sites. I am sure that in a year the pitch prices went up drastically. Personally, I won't go near one again.
