we are off to brid this weekend,  to stay with the in-laws (out-laws?)  there will be 7 of us plus a dog in their 2 bedroomed bungalow!!

was considering taking the tent just incase it gets abit stressful, so many in one small house.

does anyone know a decent, family friendly campsite, which might be available without booking?

Hi

Thorpe Hall is great, but its worth ringing first to book as being so good it can get quite full. Jayne, the manageress, is really helpful. You will find the details on site search

anyone wanting to camp near bridlington should deffnately check out the sea side camp and caravan park at ulrome near skipsea. its really cheap,(around 3 quid per person and 5 quid per pitch . its family orientated but if u like to get away from that the overspill area for tents is really nice.  (we got right into the corner so we had perfect wind break and even though the weather was overcast on the saturday we found that having the fire going and not having to worry about disturbing anyone was really good.) The ammenities are excellent, and the little cafe on the adjoining site serves home cooked food at gr8 value prices.  I used to live in bridlington during the nineties so i know the area well,  and it was gr8 to be able to explore flamborough head and thornwick bay again where in the summer because of the chalk bottom around the cliifs, is gr8 for snorkeling,  or for exploring the caves when the tide is out. Its the first time i have stayed at this site and i will deffinately be returning. as far as booking is concerned it is always worhtwhile taking the detour off the main bridlington hull road to skipsea then onto ulrome and see if theer is free space as when we arrived there was lots of space. and plenty of free rangers arrived without needing to book.  (by the way you will kow that the beaches run all the way down to bridlington and can be walked if you have the stamina :) its around 8 miles.  enjoy  ..polecat

The CC&C have 2 holiday sites just outside Bridlington at the moment - no facilities, but right on the beach and cheap.

You need to be a member though.
