What is it with Camp site owners.  I thought camping would be a nice relaxed way of enjoying a break.  Back to nature, chilled etc.etc.

I have stayed at a number of sites over the past few years some of them quite nice, however most seem to have more rules than a POW camp.  I  have a feeling that somewhere tucked away in the quiet British countryside is training camp for campsite owners rum by a couple of ex   -- officers

You unfortunately don't seem to have visited the right sites.  We too have visited some that we will never visit again.

You don't say where you are based or where you would like to visit but there are some good ones out there.

One of our favourites in Mid Wales has very few rules and those are mainly to help the environment.  If you are online leave a post and I am sure you will get some helpful posts.

Does depend on the site your using did notice many big sites around starting to have a curfew on teenagers after 11pm and a couple of sites we were on were not allowing any youngsters into their bar/clubs if they suspected they had already been drinking. This was all down to the amount of trouble they have increasingly been having over the past few seasons. But as Jana say's there are other sites ussually smaller ones that still have the freedom your looking for, But when you find them be carefull who you tell keep the trouble makers out

Depends what you mean by having a lot of rules. Most of the sites we have been to,( 13 this year so far) have only had the usual i.e dogs on leads, keep the place tidy, no noise after eleven, these I agree with, we have never had any stroppy owners.

It all depends what you want from a site.

I would think also that to get a licence for a site you have to agree to uphold certain rules or they would get closed down.
