Help.

Some weeks ago we booked a 4 night stay from tomorrow night in Bala, North Wales.  It took some phoning around to get somewhere in the area due to it being the August Bank holiday weekend as you would imagine.

We stay in Central Scotland and had arranged to meet up with my partner's brother who lives in London. It was reasonably half way.

However, we just heard they can't make it, so rather than traipse all the way down to North Wales I'd rather pitch up somewhere in the Lake District.

So big question - anyone know of any decent sites in the Lakes that will have a caravan pitch available from Thursday to this coming Monday? I'm dredding the endless phone calls around as I expect everywhere to be pretty full due to the Bank holiday.

I just tried searching on the Caravan club site, but there is nothing showing as available.

Any advice on larger sites that are likely to still have availability.

Thanks in anticipation.

I have just cancelled at Gibraltar farm at Silverdale which is near to the lakes the pitch was just basic with no electric £9 per night.  Plenty of reviews about the site on here.  Can't help overwise but good luck.

Thanks for that - I'll stick it in as a potential option - would like a hook-up though although beggars can't be choosers.

Anyone any other possibilities?

Hi, try Hill of Oaks in Windermere.  About 10 minutes drive from bowness on windermere.  a lovely site, well kept, immaculate facilities and winner of David Bellamy Conservation Award.  No club/pub on it though but very lovely.

bye

Hi,
if it's any help we got a cancellation at Park Coppice in Coniston. Plenty of good reviews on this site. Try after 2pm for a pitch.
Good Luck Donna xx
