Hi

I will be posting a review but just wanted to say we had a lovely time at this site this weekend.  If you are looking for a lively site with pubs and clubs its not for you, but if like us you like somewhere nice a relaxing then this could be for you.  Some people mentioned it's close proximity to a main road but the sound of cars didn't bother us, the only problem for me was it took a while to turn right out of the site to go into Pickering.

We had a lovely big pitch behind a hedge and were given an adjacent pitch for the other half of our party, my brother and his family.  The pitches were very level and each had electric hook-up and water point.  The toilets and showers were kept very clean and although there were only 3 showers for each sex I never saw a queue at either.  We were told by someone else on here who had tried to book that it was full, but there were quite a few free pitches, maybe people were put off by the weather forecast, although this wasn't a problem it was lovely if a little blustery yesterday, and Saturday was beautiful.

They even had a tractor ride for the kids on Saturday which my 8 year old, Luke loved!!

We will definitely be going back.

hi there, will write a review shortly! we were there all last week.. came home a night early, we had mixed feelings.....a nice site...but, we were in the field nearest to the busy road..we asked to move to the other field but were told no room (there were plenty of free pitches) so had to stay on our allocated pitch or risk being told to move! road noise was too much , didn't hear it as much in the other field so would like to pitch there if we go back, also our pitches soon became very boggy with the rain we had...didn't drain away quickly enough. put the family off a little bit, but they enjoyed getting out & about along the coast.

Hi Winv

We were in the field to the left as you went onto the site, the one without the toilet block and although we could hear the traffic I wouldn't say it was a problem at all.  We arrived Friday afternoon and were impressed with the pitches where we were considering the amount of rain there had been, we had expected them to be a bit churned up but they weren't.  When we moved our tent as we left the grass was hardly disturbed underneath, not muddy at all.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your stay as much as us, I know when we went go we would ask for a pitch in the same spot, next to the hedge.

Yep that's us, we were with my brother and his family in their Cabanon frame tent.  I can understand now you saying it was boggy cos it did seem wetter over by the gate.  The kids went through there to the shop but I went round by the owl (he quickly became my son's friend, he kept going over to say hello).

I'm sure if you had been where we were you would have felt differently, what a shame.  Did you have a lot of rain while you were there?  We are only in Hull so not that far away and I know there had been alot of rain here so we knew we wouldn't have a problem getting the pegs in!!
