Hi Gang,

We have decoded at the last minute to get some fresh air fix this weekend and would like to camp in Swange, Dorset. Be grateful if anyone out there could reccommned a good campsite that will take an Aspen 700. I am in the middle of packing the car up for the weekend. Have read a couple of the reviews on Swange campsites and some of them are very mixed. Many thanks for all your help.

Have you tried searching the corfe castle area, which is a mile or so outside of Swanage?  There are lots of campsites around there, although the one we stayed a couple of weekends ago (Downshay Farm) has, according to their website now closed at the end of the school hols.  Their facilities are basic but very clean and I would have recommended there.

Julie.

There is a thread on the UK campsites forum, you may need to search back a couple of pages. I would never ever take my kdis there after reading the responses of a few people who visited recently. The thread has been locked now too

Alot of the campsites in or near Swanage are very basic. Ulwell Cottage is probably one with the most facilities and walkable into Swanage.

If you dont mind staying a few minutes drive away in the car try Wareham Forest or a bit further along Pear Tree. Both have good clean facilities.

Just found this site Wilksworth Farm at Wimborne (so a car drive to Swanage) but its an AA 5 pennant site and the reviews on here make it sound fab. Hoping we may get a chance to try it out next weekend.

Visited Wilksworth farm a couple of years ago. Great site, well organised. Check that the pool will be open though before you go.I would certainly go there again.

Have a good time!
