Does anyone  know any good sites in the New Forest ? i did ask this yesterday but the post disappeared somehow.

Try Holmsley campsite near Bransgore on the southern tip of the forest.Run by Forestry commision.

You get the best of both worlds. - a lovely site with a shop etc - In the forest and only a couple of miles to the seaside and a couple to the village and a chioce of three pubs!!

Have just searched through postings on campsites.  Oakdene Park near Ringwood in Hampshire (10 minutes to New Forest).  Includes a Forest Ranger and Nature walks, stated on website (haven't figured out how to put links in yet).  Looks good and have just posted for more reviews.  Depends on what facilities you require.  We are pool and walking mad so would suit us.  Hope this helps.

The one to avoid? Red shoot without a doubt.

 one of the worse campsites we have stayed at if not THE worst so far. The owner is miserable, the charges were HIGH( more than sandy balls with all the amenities that offers for the same period!) There are Rules everywhere on what is basicaly a fairly shoddy excuse for amentites( 3 pushes per shower ONLY a sign announces in the shower- you think am I actually goinng to get more than 3 pushes, what if I need 4??) The facilites are inadequate for the size of site, too few loos and showers and definitely too few washing up sinks.

 The shop is expensive and not terribly well stocked and playground isnt up to much and she sqeezes as many units in as she can, adding doublers to EHU's  (which caused the electric to trip which she refused to come and deal with) and squeezing tents in between pitches so the flys were touching- totally flouting safety rules but woe betide anyone who flouts her 'rules' ( which seem to be made up and changed at will whenever she feels like)

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! ( thats if you can find it- the signposting is dire- it took us over an hour to find, we wished we'd stayed at sandy balls where we'd stopped for directions in desperation as darkness fell!)

There are lots of other sites in the area.... maybe try those first
