Has masses to do and a blue flag beach too should you fancy a dip. Entry is free if you walk or bike ( LONG walks though- bikes are a must) or a small charge if you want to drive in

There's one at the Great Orme, North Wales. Not too far from you.

Also one a t Tallington Lakes near Stamford, Peterborough, also has jetski and boat hire.

There are alot of campsites on the same road so you would be sure to find something suitable!

I'll probably get hassle for saying this, but when the weather is good (bad) enough for there to be decent skiing at aviemore, you want to be staying in a nice warm hotel !

Go skiing somewhere they have snow because of the altitude, not cos its near the north pole

First time I took my wife skiing was at Aviemore - the hotel we stayed had all the jacuzzi, sauna and stuff, so despite the wind, rain, flying lumps of ice (which is what they call snow there) she had a good time; more to the point she's still up for skiing.

Been going with our kids (now 8 & 12) for the last 4 yrs but stick to France.

Dunno why discussing this in here really. I definately reckon that camping and skiing really don't mix :-), unless you hit the dry slopes in the summer.

BTW,  the Great Orme dry slope in Llandudno is a good one. We spent some time there while up in Snowdonia. Have to watch out for the grazing sheep though (seriously). I think they have a toboggan run there too.
