package deals not as good as booking direct, if you look into and book directly with red funnel or wight link online you can save about a tenner because the hotel or boarding you stay at know the prices of booking direct.
if you book online you also get 5 or 10 percent discount, you do have to travel early or after 5.30pm though.
as i said about a tenner saved booked online just go to red funnel or wightlink online

If you do decide you want to do the late night cheaper option and you can't goto the site at that time late at night. We actually got there this year at 2.00am (we missed our ferry by just a few hours lol) We actually stayed in Tesco, put the legs down and we all went a slept in the caravan. You can even sleep in the laybys. I asked the man at the ferry where we could go and he said that people do it all the time. Just thought I would pass the info
We are going to The Orchards next August and are going to use Wightlink and use our Tesco Clubcard vouchers to help pay for it.
Even without using the Tesco vouchers, I calculated that it is cheaper to book the ferry myself than to book as a package. Also worth comparing booking through either the Caravan Club or the Caravan & Camping Club (for members).
I spoke with Wightlink on the phone about a week ago and they have told me that their 2006 fares/bookings will appear towards the second half of November.
We went to Appledurcombe last year and loved it. One piece of advice is don't pitch across the hill, as you only get the sun in the morning. If you pitch with the van facing down or up the hill you will be much better off.
We went with Red Funnel and got a reasonable deal even though we went on a Friday. The prices are not set, but based on popularity of that particular time/day. So when it is up and working on the web page, you need to keep trying different times around the one that you would like. This way you can get a cheaper price.

Yes, it was in the latest club card deals book, to use the Wightlink ferry, so I am planning to do that. We save all our vouchers for days out etc. When we order them we see what is in the areas we are planning to visit, saves lots of money whilst on holiday.
