I went to the Grassington Dickensian Christmas 2 years ago and would not go again. I'm sure it was wonderful but it was so packed it was impossible to see anything. I have never seen so many people packed shoulder to shoulder like that before. You could only go with the flow and not deviate right or left without being in danger of getting trampled under foot. It is very, very popular and a nightmare to park.

This is what Lincolns market is like if you go in the evening, you have to hope for rain and only then might you get anywhere near the stalls. In theory it is lovely the reality I'm afraid is a little different. We have given up going.

Hi
I don't know if I am too late, but I noticed whilst flicking through the latest "Out and About" magazine a feature on Christmas events with recommended sites.
I didn't get to read it but it looked right up your street with some good suggestions. (one of which was LIncoln)
