Can,t decide where to go yet, got a few ideas from you all but still not made a final decision. We're thinking of north yorks area but any more suggestions welcome. We,ve got two kids 11 and 15. Do we need to book a site with it being half term. We seem to think noone will be mad enough like us to be camping this time of year especially in a tent. Any info appreciated for camping in a tent at this time pf year. MUST BE CRAZY.

Hi pong.

Sorry missed this thread, it is nice to call sites before going, it also makes sense not nice getting there and finding the site is shut for repairs or something lol.

Hi Pong, you're not on your own.  We are going with another family to Ripley nr Harrogate at half term.  We have booked as it is a popular site.  Ring the campsite you intend to go to see if booking is necessary so you wont be disappointed or wasting time travelling from site to site.  Yes we are tenting as well

I agree, I would definately book. I would be a shame if you arrived on speck and there were no available spaces. I expect there will be plenty of other people like you in tents.......ENJOY!!!!

Because some parks close before the end of October whilst others stay open longer or even all year, its always best to phone ahead to check availability when its a school holiday.

Have a great time wherever you go.
