Hello!

I have already seen the article about campsites which allow campfies, but I was wondering if anyone knows of any others in the lake district? Failing that does anyone know what restrictions there are on having a fire, say on a lake shore? The fisherground site looks good but I was hoping to stay the eastern side of the lake district.

Well Coniston Hall advertise no fires but everytime I've been there it's been totally disregarded.....along with every other bloody rule!!!

Looking down across the campsite at night from the toilet block you'd have thought the US Cavalary was encamped.

Seems to have mixed reviews to say the least, but I guess it wouldn't be too busy in october anyway. I have heard the weather has been pretty bad in the lakes recently so worried about the flooding comment!

Hi Lillou,

Don't worry about the flooding at Coniston Hall as it all runs into the Lake .

There are a couple of areas on site to watch our for (I know at my own cost!!!). Keep away from either side of the road leading up to the toilet block and any of the dips around the edge of the fields on the Lake side of the site.

Oh, and take some strong pegs as the ground can be very rocky.

Cheers

Pete.

Hi Lilou

The only ones I know of are the wrong side,

Fisherground - Boot

The other one at Boot (but shes not keen)

Stonethwaite - Borrowdale

I use a firebowl personally cos it dosent burn the grass.

I went with Coniston Hall, Very empty, which was nice, we had a fire and no one complained. It rained lots and did get flooded in many places, thanks to camperpete's advice we were on the higher dry ground! Thanks!
