Hi all,

My wife and daughter have suggested we spend New Year in the Caravan is anyone else doing this and could you suggest a nice open site near the coast in Kent

Hi Pilgrim, we are also going away in our van for new year for the first time, cant help you with a site except to say check the search out, we are going to telford as hubby said would rather be inland at that time of year than near the coast. Going to pack plenty of wollie jumpers and spirits to keep us warm but we are really looking forward to it.My parents think we are mad but why not go...the van is just sitting on the drive otherwise and like I say it has got a heater and can be cosier than the house at times. hope you find the site you are looking for and have a really good time.

Third time away for us this year and really looking forward to chilling out after the stress of Christmas again. We got fed up with the same old thing New Year and even though we are still doing much of the same come the night

it's so much better away with friends...and a shorter stagger back to a warm and cosy van.

Yep we too are planning to go somewhere last Year was the 1st time we did it, and it was the best NY I have had in a long time far better than being stuck at home.

Hopefully we will be going to Bowdens Crest Caravan Park in Langport, Somerset. Never been away this late in winter before so any tips you have for camping in a Motorhome would be useful!!!

Jumpers and warm clothes obviously a must, never mind must be better than seeing the same old people that you see every year at New Year with there silly resolutions!!!!

Pilgrim1 - have you checked out the Events/Meets for New Year? I noticed there are a few down South, if you go to the top of the page and click on the Events/Meets and then on the Fun and Friendly meets, scroll down and you will find a few there. I noticed Claire P has booked for the Somerset meet.

I have only been on 3 meets so far, and they are good fun and you meet some really nice people who are all like-minded.

We are new to caravanning but are going to Stanwix park from Boxing day till after newyear and cant wait....people think we are mad but we think it beats staying at home we love the van the heating is warmer than at home!
