Hi

After months of military planning, we have now booked and confirmed our 4 week holiday in Pentewan Sands for next summer. We tried to get a front row pitch but were unlucky (even though I paid for guaranteed next day delivery - there were still 50 bookings before mine) and ended up at the front of field B - Hope this is still a good pitch (somewhere between b1 & b10).

To add another problem, my wife realised that we had overlapped our holiday booking with the first week of school - so it looks like the kids are going to miss a week of school, which Im sure wont upset them that much. Tried to call today to slide my booking forward a week but they are now fully booked for August (WOW).

Cant wait - looking forward to it already .........

i know what you mean jan although we have got in where we wanted i would rather have waited until next year to book as it seems far to early to be 100% sure of all family comittments but would not have got in at polmanter.

I agree its bizzare that you have to book so fae in advance. It just goes to show how popular the UK is becoming as an holiday destination. I guess I am lucky that I am able to book my holidays so early.

If it makes you feel any better - try to imagine being a first time caravan tower, with 3 screaming kids travelling from Yorkshire to Cornwall in the middle of the night. (There, hopefully that put a little smile on your face)

We were lucky and managed to get a beach front pitch earlier this year, I can remember the race and organisation to make sure the booking form got there on the right day at the right time!

My husband can only have the main weeks as holiday, which is very frustrating.  If we do not book miles in advance we struggle to get on any sites, and it means that everytime we go away the sites are always jam packed!

We too are already having to think about booking for next August  oh how I would love to be able to just hitch up and come accross somewhere with spaces!!!! 

One thing that does always puzzle me........  why do people that have the choice to go whenever they want go in the main weeks??

Absolutely Nothing - Aint that great........

I have never been to a place where I as able to undwind as much as here.

The beach is private and litterally a 1 minute walk from your caravan.

The port of Mevagissey is a 30 minute stroll away.

The kids can play on the beach / the climbing frame / the pool - jump off the rocks into the sea.

Everyone has their own view of paradise - but to me - this place is perfect.
