We've stayed many times at riverside and can throughly recommend it. Yes the play area is in the adjacent park but this is reached directly from Riverside, you don't need to go outside of  the site to get to it.On the otherhand Riverside is a superb site, Loo's are top notch, The site runs a riverboat service into Stratford, saves looking for parking, the the cafe/takeaway is good, I can recommend the big breakfast!. Just down the lane is Tiddington with a range of shops & takeaways & a good pub doing superb meals. Stratford itself is simply beautiful especially around the R.S.C. And gardens.Try it. You won't regret it. 

Does Riverside still take tourers or are you planning on staying in a static?

I understood from talking to the Riverside rep at NEC that they no longer take tourers on the Riverside Site only on the one over the bridge.

Can anyone clarify this?

I understood that one side of the river was going over to statics which in view of the flooding history seems less than wise

We stayed there and parked on the river bank

It was really beautiful as the sun came up with the mist rising and the water birds coming in to land

I will ask at the NEC next month
